My film history schools #1 The Strand Lowell Mass.

The Strand Theatre was opened in 1917. A beautiful downtown theatre which closed around 1971. The granger of chandeliers and box seats had faded into a marvelous decay by the 1960’s when I’d take the bus downtown to buy 1950’s Sci Fi digests and old comics and view the endless double and triple bills. Hammer Horror, Vincent Price/Corman Poe flicks, Sergio Leone classics, Both of the Blacula and Count Yorga outings, Equinox and so much more on a giant screen.

  1. EQUINOX????
OMG I would have killed to have seen Equinox in the 70s.
That was my "bridge too far" movie I could not find anywhere!
This movie was always in the backpages of Famous Monsters Mag
but never at all on TV or in the mainstream movie circuit.

NICE artwork & strategy with the posters but there's a catch.
You can't film in 16mm without very good lighting. This shows bad in this movie.
    Also: enlarging it to 35mm
isn't going to help picture quality any but 16mm producers would do this
    to facilitate the cinema market.
